Handmade With Love...

Listening to: Lil Wayne - I am Not a Human Being

Hey guys :)

Thought i'd do a quick post on the jumper i have been working on since the summer, which i have finally finished!
It was one of those stop-start projects that took forever to complete, but i must say it was a very hard pattern to follow.
The pattern is called 'Candy' from Rowan's Studio 19 brochure. I would definatley recommend this brochure, the patterns are hard to follow but once you have mastered one, the rest become much easier to understand. It has 8 beautiful patterns, very girly tops i must say, but there is quite a few colours to choose from in the Kidsilk Haze yarns so you can give them a bit of an edge through colour choice. You can buy Rowan products at large John Lewis stores.
I used shade 580 which is a baby pink becuase i wanted a 'Candyfloss' effect.
I will be knitting the 'Soda' sailor top next in black and cream stripes, which i will sell as part of Dollied's S/S 11, which i am very excited for starting!

Just a warning, the Kidslick Haze yarn costs £7.95 for a 25g ball, and you will need at least 3 balls, so it does cost a lot in the end, but i assure you it will be worth the money and time. You will have a beautiful garment that you will have put so much love and time into, the satisfaction you get from the end result is wonderful! So give it a go!

Its 'Made with Love', becuase it's not perfect! The sleeves are puffy and it is quite loose fitting, but i think it looks more 'Candyfloss' like this way!

There is no need to worry when you first start knitting bigger projects, they aren't going to be perfect unless you've been knitting for years or if you are following your own pattern.
Practise makes perfect after all!

Thanks for reading,
My promised outift post will be coming on Friday so stay tuned!

  1. I love it, it looks so delicate and elegant. I'd buy that if I saw it in a shop without hesitation.

  2. i love the jumper jess, fancy makeing me one in my size? :P XX
